  21. A) Installation of the BigWin Driver
  22. ====================================

  24.   Start Windows and choose at the Program Manager:
  25.       FILE-RUN
  26.   and type A:\V7SETUP.
  27.  
  28. B) Notes and Known Restrictions
  29. ===============================
  30. V7SETUP:
  31. --------
  32.   1) V7SETUP adds line "BASEADDRESS=0" in SYSTEM.INI under title
  33.   [CAD1K.DRV], required for BigWin. Only if system has more
  34.   than 32 MB RAM, SYSTEM.INI should be edited and this value
  35.   be changed to 1.
  36.  
  37.   2) If you run Windows programs using a modem you should change
  38.   in SYSTEM.INI under title [CAD1K.DRV] the line CHIPSYNC=0 to
  39.   CHIPSYNC=1.
  40.  
  41.   3) During the first installation the driver will be installed with the
  42.   lowest possible refresh rate at the chosen resolution.
  43.   If you use a high-class multi-sync monitor and you choose a
  44.   resolution 1024x768 and above, synchronisation problems may occur.
  45.   To prevent this, please choose the resolution 640x480 to start with.
  46.   Afterwards you can test and change to the preferred resolution
  47.   and refresh rate with the utility V7SETUP.

  49.   4) Installing graphics drivers for Windows and Virus Check Programs
  50.   Virus check programs, such as the DOS 6.0 internal one, which search
  51.   for changes at *.exe and *.com files, detect changes at the file
  52.   win.com after installing the SPEA V7 BigWin driver. This is not a
  53.   virus, because while installing the driver, driver supplements will
  54.   be saved in this file.

  56. SPEA BigWin Driver:
  57. -------------------
  58.   1) The SPEA V7 BigWin driver may not be used in 80286 based
  59.   systems.
  60.  
  61.   2) VDD limitation:  Cannot execute any VGA graphics modes in a
  62.   windowed mode. The XGA driver supplied by Microsoft has a similiar
  63.   limitation.

  65.   3) True Color:
  66.   If you use more than 15 icons in one program group, a message will
  67.   tell you that not all symbols are converted correctly. These symbols
  68.   will be displayed in black.

  71. C) Windows 95 Beta Release and BigWin95:
  72. ========================================
  73.   For the current beta version of Windows 95 SPEA offeres a special
  74.   Win95 driver: BigWin95. These drivers will not be added to the
  75.   delivery scope upto the final release of Windows 95. The BigWin95
  76.   drivers are available via SPEA's Mailbox and Compuserve (GO SPEA).
